Private Consultations

Our Private Consultations offer individualized guidance grounded in evidence-based training, positive reinforcement, and canine behaviour science. Sessions may be held at our training facility in Vanessa, ON, in your home, or through phone or video, whichever best supports your needs and learning style.

What to Expect

1. Initial Consultation & Behavioural Assessment

Your consultation begins with a comprehensive conversation in which Melissa gathers information about your dog’s behaviour, learning history, and daily routines. This collaborative assessment allows us to identify the factors contributing to current challenges and form a clear understanding of your training goals.

2. Personalized Homework Plan

Following the assessment, Melissa will develop a tailored management and training plan for you to work through at home.

This plan provides approximately one month of structured “homework,” including step-by-step exercises, practical strategies, and guidance designed specifically for your dog and household.

Every team receives this plan as part of the Initial Consultation.

3. Optional Ongoing Support

Some teams benefit from additional guidance as they work through their plan. For those who prefer continued individualized support, we offer access to a private online portal (not included with the initial consultation). This portal allows you to securely share training videos and track your progress.

Through the portal, Melissa provides ongoing 1-on-1 support, including detailed feedback and a personalized weekly training plan.

Ongoing portal support is available at $125 per week.

For some dogs and handlers, participation in our group classes may be recommended to complement your individualized plan and support continued skill development.
