CCC's Curriculum

We are excited to release our brand-new curriculum as we move into 2026! After 25 years, we are retiring the Life Skills Program and are proud to introduce Core Courses. These courses are anchored in our flagship Life Skills program, but are now offered as focused 4-week modules to allow for flexible scheduling that fits your busy lifestyle.

In addition to Core Courses, we are introducing two additional streams for your dogs to explore: Electives, like Recall Rockstar and Tricks, and Extra-Curriculars, including our Agility and Nosework programs. Each stream is designed to be engaging, fun, and supportive, helping dogs build skills, confidence, and focus while keeping training enjoyable for both dog and handler.

Below you will find a Progression Chart to visualize how Core Courses, Electives, and Extra-Curriculars connect. Following the chart, detailed descriptions of each stream will guide you, along with information for students transitioning from the Life Skills Program.

Training Streams

Core Courses (Grades 1 -6)

The Core Courses are structured as focused 4-week modules that give dogs and their humans the essential life skills needed for all future training and for helping dogs become confident, well-mannered members of society. Each course is carefully designed to develop good manners, focus, and effective communication between handler and dog. At the conclusion of each grade, dogs participate in an exit exam to determine readiness for the next level. This assessment is not a pass/fail measure; it simply ensures each dog advances at a pace appropriate for their learning, reinforcing confidence and mastery.

Electives

Electives are for our curious, “nerdy” dogs who love to think, problem-solve, and have fun with learning. These are focused 3-week courses where dogs and handlers dive deeper into obedience skills, explore specific topics, and enjoy games that challenge the mind. Courses like Recall Rockstar, Tricks, and Forest School focus on mental stimulation, confidence, and teamwork, all within a playful, engaging environment. Dogs can join this stream after they graduate from Grade 2.

Extra-Curriculars

Extra-Curriculars give dogs a chance to explore exciting, hands-on dog sports beyond the Core Courses. Programs include Agility, Hoopers, and our new Nosework curriculum, each designed to challenge both mind and body while building focus, confidence, and teamwork. Dogs and handlers enjoy a playful, supportive environment and the chance to connect with our lively community of dog lovers. Dogs can join this stream after they graduate from Grade 1.
